Filling the silage clamp

We have just cut our whole crop oats

Two clamps filled with 1700 tonnes of whole cropped oats undersown with grass cut and clamped over two days.

The clamps are rolled down tight and sheeted with plastic to keep the air out, we then roll out old astro turf ontop of the plastic sheet to hold the plastic down tight and protect it from being punctured in anyway.

Once ready this will be fed in a variety of mixed rations to the cattle.
